Wrap Around Supplemental Option

If you have determined that your current benefit is not actuarially equivalent, you may consider changing your benefit plan to “wrap around” each retiree’s choice of Medicare Part D plan.

If you wish to pursue a wrap-around solution for 2006, Sav-Rx can assist you with both:

• The initial design of the benefit, and,
• The communication required to members.

Initial Design and Implementation Support

It is key that any wrap-around program is designed to assist your retirees during the Medicare Part D coverage gaps, while limiting risk to the group. This balance requires careful analysis and design to ensure maximum overall value to retirees and minimal overall financial risk to the group. The Sav-Rx benefit design team will assist you by:

• Working with you to determine overall benefit plan goals.
• Design custom benefit options based on your unique requirements.
• Perform analysis, based on the previous year’s retiree utilization to determine the value to retirees and risk to the plan of each option designed.
• Coordinate the implementation of your selected benefit design for January 1, 2006.

The above listed services will be provided free of charge to groups selecting the “Wrap-Around” option.

Communication Support

It is important that communication is provided to members so that they understand that their benefit is changing and that they must enroll in their choice of Medicare Part D Plan. Wrap-around coverage should only be available to individuals who enroll, and are active, in a Medicare Part D Plan.
